Be careful what you post on Instagram, or your $650 World Series ticket might just get stolen

Robbie Johnson is a huge Red Sox fan and was so excited to get a ticket to the World Series that he posted a picture of the ticket on Instagram. When Johnson arrived at the game, his ticket (which cost $650) wouldn't scan. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that his ticket had been scanned a few hours before. Someone had seen the ticket on Johnson's Instagram and copied the specific details like the barcode and used the ticket as their own.

Unfortunately for Johnson, officials were unable to find the culprit and the Red Sox fan was unable to recoup the ticket loss and ended up having to purchase a new ticket for $450. Johnson had this to say about his situation: "there are people who will do these things, which is unfortunate...we were very excited about it, never been to a World Series game and it has always been a lifelong dream of both of ours."

It's pretty sad that Johnson's ticket was stolen, but it's definitely a good lesson for everyone to be mindful of what they post on social media. The Red Sox did go on to win the World Series though, so at least something positive came out of the ticket thievery.
