This Might Be The Coolest Starbucks In The World

This Starbucks in Fukuoka, Japan fuses quirky architecture with a global brand

We at The Sitch love coffee, so we are featuring a unique coffee shop every day this week in honor of National Coffee Day, September 29. In Fukuoka, Japan there is a coffee shop that features a unique weaved wood interior.

The Starbucks was designed by Kengo Kuma, who is a world renowned architect. Given that the coffee shop is in the same neighborhood as the Dazaifu Tenmangu temple and other similar buildings, the Starbucks’ design was “aimed to make a structure that harmonizes with such townscape, using a unique system of weaving thin woods diagonally.” The Starbucks consists of over 2,000 pieces of wood and it envelopes the entire interior of the cafe.
