This Bird Is A Very Good Bird

This Bird Is A Very Good Bird

This Story about a bird is currently trending and it’s so cute

Alex Parker is a planetary astronomer and artist who, in his own words, is “exploring the origin and history of our solar system.”  Yesterday on Twitter, he posted a thread starting with “Hello Twitter. Today I would like to tell you about Henry.”

Henry, a young blue jay, flew into Parker’s yard one day while he was cutting lumber for a fireplace mantel. He referred to the bird as “scruffy-looking” and small. The bird proceeded to demand food and Parker also got him some water. The little bird drank the water up and ate some snacks and within a day or so was looking less scruffy.

Although Henry seemed to have been nursed back to health, he still stopped by and would stand in his “please give me snacks” pose.

Eventually, he started only visiting on some mornings, announcing himself by making a special call so Parker would come out and chat.

Parker referred to the new separation as Henry being a teenager “too cool for his parents” and “the bird equivalent of coming home to do laundry.”

The Twitter thread ended with “Basically, Henry is a Very Good Bird.”
