If You’ve Recently Gotten A Vampire Facial, Then You Probably Want To Get Tested
The vampire facial, a facial treatment recently made famous by Kim Kardashian is potentially spreading infections like HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C
A vampire facial is a non-surgical facial made famous by Kim Kardashian that involves drawing blood and then injecting the blood back into the face using micro needles. However, it’s recently been reported by the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) that customers who have been to particular spas in Albuquerque should now be tested for HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
After being inspected earlier this month, officials identified practices that could potentially spread the infections caused by blood transmission. Dr. Michael Landen told CBS affiliate KRQE "We undertook the inspection because a client of the VIP Spa developed an infection that may have resulted from a procedure performed at the spa." Thankfully the NMDOH is offering free, confidential hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV testing for those who suspect they may have contracted one of the infections.
It’s scary to think that people may have caught one of these diseases just from getting a facial from a spa that they probably otherwise trusted.
