The Second ‘Venom’ Trailer Has Us Like
The second trailer for Tom Hardy’s Venom dropped yesterday and has us more pumped than the first
If it wasn’t enough that the first trailer for Tom Hardy’s Venom brought on a slew of horny meme-filled reactions from fans taking to Twitter, the latest trailer to drop for Sony’s sentient alien Symbiote has us wanting to see the movie even more. The official trailer can be watched below.
While there was some to learn about the movie from the first trailer, the second opens up a few new cans of worms. We learn that Dr. Carlton Drake believes that mankind must merge with the Symbiotes to become a “higher life form”, there’s other Symbiotes (like Riot) featured so Venom will undoubtedly have an epic battle or two and that the internal conflict between Eddie and Venom is real.
While Venom is often described as the Spiderman’s arch enemy (similar to how he’s portrayed in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3), this new trailer has us thinking that he might actually be more of an anti-hero instead of an outright bad guy.
And in case you didn’t catch it in the trailer, the “In Association With Marvel” card at the beginning the video signifies that the Venom movie will be in some way part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A deal between Sony (which controls the rights to Spider-Man) and Disney/Marvel allowed the studios to collaborate on Spider-Man: Homecoming, Venom and soon to be additional movies based on other characters from the Spider-Verse like Black Cat and Silver Sable.
