Todd Phillips' Joker is not one to be messed with
Director Todd Phillips continues to tease out glimpses of Arthur Fleck from the new movie Joker
Earlier this week, it was reported that director Todd Phillips was working with actor Joaquin Phoenix to produce a new take on one of Batman’s enemies - the Joker. So far, little is known about the film, titled Joker, other than Phoenix will play the part of Author Fleck, a civilian version of the Joker before he turns into one of Gotham’s worst villains.
Earlier today, Phillips took to Instagram again to reveal what Arthur would look like with makeup – a face that seems to bear a striking resemblance to the bad guys in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.
The scene shows a video of an unsmiling Arthur staring into the camera as it approaches him. A flickering shadow of another motion picture continues to cast over his body while The Guess Who's song “Laughing” plays quietly in the background. Arthur then begins to strike a grin before transforming into a fully painted Joker that looks as sinister as ever. The smile quickly fades before the clip ends.
We’re hoping that Phillips will continue to post teasers to the Joker before it’s released October 4, 2019.
