Ramen Burger: An Amazing Burger Between Two Ramen Buns
The ramen burger is probably the best tasting fatty food we’ve eaten since the deep fried fat Elvis on a stick
Developed by Keizo Shimamoto, the ramen burger is “ramen reimagined”. The Japanese chef grew up in California and developed the amazing new spin on a burger while studying ramen in Japan. It was there that he encountered a pork sandwich with ramen buns. Bringing the tasty concoction back to the states, his baby, the Ramen Burger was born.
Its website says that it was developed “as an unpredictable, unprecedented, unrestrained demand from the public” and we have to agree. At first, you don’t really know what to think about it but after taking a bite, you’re instantly in love.
The ramen burger costs $10-$11 and comes in “The Original ‘OG’”, “Mushroom Veggie”, “Teriyaki Pulled Pork”, “Fuji Pineapple” and “Breakfast” variants. Extras and sides are also available, ranging from a $2 extra patty to $1 for some Yuzuslaw.
While the original ramen burger can currently only be found in New York’s Ramen Shack or at various Smorgasburg’s throughout the city, Shimamoto has hopes to introduce the delicious burger to the entire world one day. The tasty trend has already been copied by big burger shops like Red Robin but the unoriginal versions just aren't the same. The video below shows Shimamoto explaining the process of how the burger is made while in front of a line of 100 people.
