Tesla’s $1,500 Surfboards Are Already Sold Out
In case you didn’t know, the car company Tesla also makes really high-end merch and is now selling surfboards for $1,500
Yesterday, Tesla started selling limited edition Tesla surfboards for $1,500 on its website and they’re already sold out. The board was designed by the Tesla Design Studio in collaboration with Lost Surfboards and Matt “Mayhem” Biolos, who is a surfboard shaper for World Surf League Championship athletes.
It features a mix of the same high-quality matte and gloss finishes used on all of their cars and the deck is reinforced with light-weight “Black Dart” carbon fiber. The car company pretty much took some of the cool elements of the car and started throwing them into something that lets you travel by sea instead of by ground.
The “Black Dart” Carbon Fiber also maintains quick reaction, highly responsible, and memory benefits of carbon fiber. The bottom features two layers of 4oz cloth, for maximum strength and dent resistance. We’re not going to lie – these are pretty sick surfboards, which come in red and black.
This isn’t the first time Tesla has sold some cool merch totally unrelated to their car line. Co-founder and CEO, Elon Musk also sold $5 million worth of flamethrowers earlier this year as well as some cool $400 leather jackets back in 2016.
Let us know if you’re planning to pick up one of the futuristic boards whenever they become available in the comments section below and be sure to subscribe to The Sitch for more Tesla news and other entertaining reads.
