Starting This Week You Can Buy Things On Amazon Using Snapchat

Snapchat is officially partnering with Amazon to allow user’s to shop Amazon via the Snapchat camera 

Snapchat released an update that will allow users to search for products on Amazon using the Snapchat camera. The feature is rolling out slowly starting this week.

According to Snapchat, “it’s super easy to use. Simply point your Snapchat camera at a physical product or barcode, and press and hold on the camera screen to get started.” Once the camera has picked up the item, an Amazon pop-up will appear with that product (or something similar). Users will then be able to click into the pop-up and purchase the item right there. 

Instagram has a similar feature, where users can purchase a product using a “shop now” bar across the bottom of sponsored posts, but what’s different about Snapchat’s shopping option is that it’s exclusive to Amazon and users can snap a picture of any item, song, barcode, etc…
