Check out this four-legged robot that can do the Running Man
Boston Dynamics has now taught its four-legged robot to do the Running Man
Imagine a world where robots are as common as microwaves and they help humans with household tasks or other things. Now imagine a world where those robots can dance. In a YouTube video posted by Boston Dynamics, a four-legged robot SpotMini was caught doing the Running Man to the song "Uptown Funk." SpotMini dances impeccably and will be sold beginning in 2019. According to Boston Dynamics' founder Marc Raibert, the SpotMini can be used for a "number of tasks, from inspection duties for heavy industries to security to research."
Raibert has come clean, though, and said that in order to teach the bot how to dance, it took at least 20 attempts and that the videos show the bot on its "very best behavior." Raibert also mentioned that robot technology, while it has advanced a lot, is not fully developed yet and he believes that it’s Boston Dynamics job to "push the boundaries, but also find the best possible uses for the technology as we have it."
Boston Dynamics has also developed a robot that looks remarkably like a human and it’s able to run and jump.
