Here’s where to get free coffee today for National Coffee Day
Today is National Coffee Day and many coffee shops are celebrating with free coffee
To all of our caffeinated friends, this one’s for you. National Coffee Day is finally here! We’ve been featuring a unique coffee shop each day leading up to the big day. Now it’s time to celebrate by getting free coffee from a variety of coffee chains and stores. We at The Sitch have pulled together a comprehensive list of the best deals.
Did someone say “free?”
The main attraction for National Coffee Day is definitely the free coffee that comes with it. Below is a list of all of the big chains giving away free coffee.
Dunkin Donuts (soon to be just Dunkin’)
Buy a coffee, get a coffee (of equal or lesser value). You can either double fist or give the freebie away to a friend, family, or homeless person on the street.
Buy a coffee for $1 any size at McDonald’s and get a second coffee for $0.01. So, basically that’s two coffees for $1.01. Additionally, guests can purchase a small caramel macchiato, cappuccino, or American for only $2.
Krispy Kreme released two new menu items this week: Coffee Glazed Doughnut and Original Glazed Coffee. To celebrate National Coffee Day, the doughnut chain is giving away free coffee (no purchase necessary) - and for their Krispy Kreme Rewards members, they’ll also throw in a free doughnut.
Buy a cupcake, get a free can of their High Brew Coffee (basically cold brew).
Cinnabon is giving away a free 12 oz coffee.
Buy a breakfast sandwich, get a free coffee.
Order through the Sheetz App and you’ll receive a free cold brew (any size, any flavor).
Coffee Deals and Discounts
Not everywhere is giving away free coffee, but many places are offering discounted coffees.
Peet’s Coffee & Tea
Peet’s Coffee & Tea is offering 25% off 1 lb. of beans and with that purchase, customers also get a free cup of coffee. This is also online using the code “COFFEEDAY18.” Peet’s Coffee & Tea is also donating $1 to TechnoServe (a Farmer’s Assistance charity) for each pound of coffee purchase.
Keurig is offering 20% off of pods online.
Wawa is offering $1 any size cup of coffee.
In addition to giving away free coffee, some coffee chains are using the day as an opportunity to be a little more philanthropic.
Starbucks says that it knows “the hard work and pride that goes into your cup, starting with farmers who grow the coffee beans, all the way to the baristas. This National Coffee Day, [Starbucks] is focused on providing continued assistance to help Puerto Rico recover following the devastation of Hurricane Maria one year ago, where the coffee industry was decimated.” Starbucks is donating 2 million coffee beans, and The Starbucks Foundation and EFI Foundation are giving a $583,000 grant to World Coffee Research. Starbucks also has committed up to $20 million towards to an Emergency Relief that support smallholder farmers in Central America.
Caribou Coffee is donating a cup of coffee (for each cup of coffee purchased) to caregivers and family members in cancer centers throughout America.
Dutch Bros Coffee
Dutch Bros Coffee is donating $1 from each drink sold to a local children’s organization.
Allegro Coffee is donating $1 to the Whole Planet Foundation for every coffee purchased from Whole Foods.
