Did Motorola Seriously Just Copy The iPhone X?
The new Motorola P30 is the biggest iPhone X rip-off that we’ve seen to date
There’s no doubting that Apple sets trends for most of its product categories and that most companies (not only tech companies) envy the brand, often times doing what they can to replicate its greatness. But blatantly copying one of its flagship model smartphones is taking things a bit too far.
Motorola recently leaked photos of its latest smartphone, the Motorola P30 and the resemblance to Apple’s iPhone X is uncanny. Even if there are other smartphones out there imitating the bezels and notches, nearly none have taken it as far as Motorola just did. Even though the internet is already ripping Motorola a new one for the blatant ripoff, Lenovo, Motorola’s parent company has yet to release an official statement. But even when they do, what can they really say?
It’s no surprise that Motorola has struggled to keep up with the big smartphone manufacturers like Samsung, Apple and Huawei since 2003 when nearly everyone had its popular flip phone the RAZR but did it really have to copy Apple’s iPhone? Ultimate tech blogger Marques Brownlee has even called it the "most shameless rip yet" and the wallpaper used even looks just like that of the iPhone.
The only good thing about this Android phone has to be the price, which Motorola is selling its 64GB model for approximately $300 – $360. This is a great deal compared to the iPhone X, which costs $1,000+ depending on the model (unless of course, you lease the phone from Sprint for $5 a month).
