Here's how to make your own pumpkin spice latte
Today is National Pumpkin Day and so we wanted to share with you how to make your own Pumpkin Spice Latte
Fall is in full force - Halloween is next week, the leaves are changing color, and everyone is wearing scarves and boots. Pumpkins have always been a Fall staple, but the Pumpkin Spice Latte has been the biggest Fall trend since 2014 when Starbucks released the beverage. Now, every Fall, it’s as if making a trip to Starbucks for at least one Pumpkin Spice Latte is each of our right of passage and, in a sense, our personal duty to the Fall season. Today is National Pumpkin Day, so we thought that while you carve a beautiful pumpkin today, you might enjoy making your own homemade version of Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte.
What you’ll need:
2 Cups of Milk (or whatever substitute you prefer)
2 Tablespoons of Libby’s Pumpkin Purée
1-3 Tablespoons of Sugar (sweeten to your liking)
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
1/2 Teaspoon of Pumpkin Pie Spice
1/2 Cup of Hot Coffee
First, mix the pumpkin purée, milk, and sugar in a skillet over medium heat - be careful to let it get hot, but not boil. Once it’s hot, remove the skillet from the heat and add the coffee, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice - whisking it all together. This will make enough for two warm and delicious Pumpkin Spice Lattes, so grab a friend and pour it into a mug, topping it off with whipped cream and sprinkling some more pumpkin pie spice on top for show.
Now, you can serve all your friends a delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte without even having to leave your home! Let us know if you’ve tried the recipe in the comments section below and be sure to subscribe to The Sitch for more pumpkin news and other entertaining reads.
