Jam City and Disney are working together to create new mobile games
Disney has teamed up with Jam City to develop a slew of new mobile games based on iconic characters and stories from Disney and Pixar
As of November 14, Jam City and Disney are joining forces to create new mobile games based off of iconic characters from both Disney and Pixar productions. Jam City is a leader in mobile entertainment and is also taking over Disney's popular mobile game, Disney Emoji Blitz. The first game on their list to create is a game based on Disney's Frozen sequel.
Jam City was founded in 2009 by MySpace co-founder and CEO, Chris DeWolfe and former 20th Century Fox executive, Josh Yguado. Jam City is responsible for highly successful games like Cookie Jam and Panda Pop. Other brands that Jam City has created mobile games for include Harry Potter, Family Guy, Marvel’s Avengers, and Futurama.
According to DeWolfe, "Jam City is proud to be teaming with Disney. Disney is the world's leader in beloved characters and brands that have engaged generations of fans for decades. Jam City's leadership in mobile entertainment based on iconic entertainment IP, makes our company an ideal partner to develop a lineup of new mobile games with Disney's most popular franchises.”
According to Kyle Laughlin, the Senior Vice President of Games and Interactive Experiences at Disney, he can’t “wait to see how Jam City and the incredibly talented team behind Disney Emoji Blitz will grow the already successful game and franchise, and how Jam City will bring their global reach and expertise in developing successful, enduring mobile games to the upcoming titles.”
