Hundreds of Witches took to riding paddleboards over broomsticks in Oregon
Check out these hundreds of witches paddleboarding through the Willamette River in Oregon
If you happened to be driving past the Willamette River in Oregon, then there’s a good chance that you saw hundreds of witches (and a few warlocks) sailing their way through the large body of water on paddleboards. Who really needs broomsticks anyway - We are in 2018, aren’t we? The event, otherwise known as Standup Paddleboard Witch Paddle had the large coven paddle all the way from Willamette Park to Tom McCall Waterfront Park and back.
The witch paddle started after the event organizer Ginny Kauffman got the idea from seeing a similar event take place a few years ago in California. Although Portland’s Paddleboard Witch Paddle only started with a few dozen witches, it has since grown to several hundred participants. According to The Oregonian, participants also donated new packaged underwear, shirts, and socks to the nonprofit Our House of Portland, as well as coats to Sunshine Division.
