This glitter bomb will explode glitter onto unsuspecting package thieves
A YouTuber built a glitter bomb for package thieves
We live in a time where most people make their purchases online and have them delivered to their door. While this is an incredibly convenient way to shop, it also opens up the door of opportunity for thieves to come up to anyone’s porch and take their package. YouTuber Mark Rober created a glitter bomb to help stop the package thieves.
Mark Rober is a former NASA engineer and YouTube star who had a package swiped from his home. He caught the whole thing on his security cameras but police had told him that it wasn’t worth their time to investigate. This is when Rober decided to take matters into his own hands and create a glitter bomb that would erupt once the robber opened the package.
The contraption took an entire six months to develop and included motion sensors, a GPS tracker, and four wide-angle cameras (provided by mobile phones). Rober even included a special fart spray that would (hopefully) make the robber throw the package away - so that Rober could follow the GPS tracker and recover the package.
Package thievery is on the rise because it is so difficult to track. While the glitter bomb is more gimmick than a practical solution to the problem, it is definitely an issue that Amazon and police are working to investigate and figure out a solution to ensure package safety.
