The woman who married a ghost is getting a divorce
After marrying the ghost of a pirate, Amanda Teague is letting everyone know that her marriage is over
It's been said that "all is fair in love and war," and that just might be true. A woman by the name of Amanda Teague married a 300-year-old ghost earlier this year but the marriage, according to Teague, is over.
Teague is a 45-year-old Jack Sparrow impersonator from Northern Ireland and the ghost she married was a 300-year-old pirate ghost named Jack. According to her social media, Teague posted earlier this week saying, "so I feel it's time to let everyone know that my marriage is over...I will explain all in due course but for now all I want to say is be VERY careful when dabbling in spirituality, it's not something to mess with..."
How does one go about marrying a ghost? Well, it's not legal in most places so Teague and her ghost husband opted to have a private ceremony on a boat in the international water near Ireland. A medium was hired for the ceremony so that Jack could say, "I do" and instead of putting a ring on a ghost finger, Teague held a candle that represented Jack and placed a ring with the candle.
According to Teague, when she first started having feelings for the spirit she was "horrified to discover [she] had romantic feelings for him, having never heard of that before." Their relationship grew and eventually, Teague knew she wanted more, so she brought up the topic of marriage. The ghost had apparently been left at the altar once before but agreed to marry Teague.
It will be interesting to hear what actually happened to make the marriage not work out, but in the meantime let us know your thoughts in the comments section below and be sure to subscribe to The Sitch for more love stories and other entertaining reads.
