Disney's Frozen 2 is in the works and already has four new songs
Anna and Elsa are back at it with Frozen 2 coming to theaters in 2019
Frozen was arguably one of Disney’s greatest successes when it came out in 2013. The film brought on fan-craze to the extreme, even causing there to be a Frozen short called Frozen Fever where Elsa catches a cold on Anna’s birthday. The short was released in 2015 along with the Disney film Coco. Frozen even became a Broadway show, which opened in the spring of 2018. Now Frozen 2 is in the works and already has four songs ready to go.
Jennifer Lee, who co-directed Frozen and is working on the sequel, said this week at the “Ralph Breaks the Internet” premiere that the creators of Frozen 2 have already found the film’s hit song. The song was written by Bobby Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez and will challenge the original film's "Let It Go" as a new fan-favorite song.
Additionally, three other songs have already made the cut for the Frozen sequel, which means (according to Lee) that there are only "three more to go." The film will follow Anna and Elsa, the sister duo who changed Disney's definition of "true love," as they leave Arendelle and venture on to a new "bigger, more epic" journey.
The film is set to release on November 22, 2019, and will feature Idina Menzel as Elsa and Kristen Bell as Anna, along with Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad.
