Gotham’s new version of Bane looks like a character you might see in Mortal Kombat or Star Wars
Shane West is set to play Bane in Fox’s Gotham and we don’t really know what to think about it
Earlier this week, Entertainment Weekly dropped the first look at Gotham’s version of the Batman villain Bane. Bane (played by Shane West) is set to appear in the Fox TV show’s fifth and final season. Although the character is supposed to wreak havoc all of over the city, people are finding it hard to take the look seriously, given that instead of looking like the terrifying version of Tom Hardy’s Bane we’ve come to love in The Dark Knight Rises, West’s version instead looks like an awkward mashup of Scorpion from Mortal Kombat and a Sith Lord from Star Wars.

How about bane but his mask is a vape pen and he just annoys everyone in Gotham.— Stephen Mitchell (@LivinCivil) October 22, 2018
The TV version of Bane is set to be “a former Army friend of Jim Gordon’s (Ben McKenzie), who is gradually transformed into the supervillain,” and although we don’t currently know much more than that at this time, we’ll just have to wait until his story and the other remaining loose ends unravel in Gotham’s fifth season next year.
