Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald And Why We’re So Excited

The new Fantastic Beasts trailer just dropped at Comic-Con and it has us wanting more

While we might have already covered the best TV trailers that have released at Comic-Con so far, this new and extended trailer for J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald has us excited more than ever.

Although the first Harry Potter spinoff of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them didn’t quite impress us as much as we were hoping, the team over at Warner Brothers must have gone back to the drawing board because the second installment in what is now a five-film set is packed with everything Harry Potter fans might want to see. Oh, and did we mention that Johnny Depp is now set to play the main villain in the title and that there might even be a preview of the epic showdown between Professor Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald (Depp)?

While the original teaser trailer was released on YouTube back in March, this extended, nearly three and a half minute version was just debuted yesterday at San Diego Comic-Con. The presentation also had a panel of 10 cast members, including Depp who showed up in full character attire.

While promising to bring back several of the characters from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, it also shows that there will be numerous new characters added to the plot, including Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist who succeeded in creating the Sorcerer’s Stone featured in the first Harry Potter movie.

Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Carmen Ejogo, Zoë Kravitz, Dan Fogler, Eddie Redmayne, and Depp are all set to be featured in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which is set to release November 16.
