This App Will Change Your Gender

The App FaceApp will show what you look like as the opposite gender

Even though it’s been out for quite some time now, there’s a good chance that you’re social media feeds are filled with people sharing what they look like as the opposite gender.

This is all thanks to the app FaceApp, which debuted in the App Store back in January of last year. It's surprising to see how many rounds this app will make on social media channels like Facebook and Instagram, especially given that its novelty wore off quite some time ago.

Apparently, your friends just have to know what you would look like as a person of the opposite gender. We’ve seen at least twenty of these posts fill our news feed in the past day alone. It’s also been one of the biggest photography apps in the App Store and Google Play Store and is one of the highest-grossing photo apps, as far as in-app purchases and subscriptions go. The free version is ad-supported, but users can pay extra to access more filters or remove the company’s watermark.

FaceApp uses neural networks to create photorealistic facial transformations and can alter your image to look older, younger, female or male, smiling or wearing glasses. Below is a picture of the app doing its thing on two celebrities you might be pretty familiar with.
