Customers buy donuts in bulk from this donut shop every day so the owner can spend time with his sick wife
Customers at this donut shop buy donuts by the dozens first thing in the morning every day so the owner can spend more time with his wife
Donut City, owned by John and Stella Chhan, is a little donut shop right off of the Pacific Coast Highway in California. The Chhan's have run and managed the donut shop side by side every day for nearly 30 years, so when Mrs. Chhan stopped working behind the counter the customer's became curious as to what happened.
As it turns out, Mrs. Chhan had suffered an aneurysm and is currently weak and in rehab. Her husband rushes home every day so that he can be with her - but he can't leave the donut shop until its sold out of donuts for the day. That's why Donut City's customers come in every morning and purchase donuts in bulk in order to help sell out the shop so that Mr. Chhan can leave and be with his wife.
The customers have even taken to Social Media to promote the cause saying things like, "Hey come and support this guy's donuts...he's a great man, great cause." Mr. Chhan is incredibly appreciative of his loyal and supportive customers and says that his wife's condition is improving and that, "she can talk, she can write...right now she's trying to start to eat something."
