Why Buy A House When You Can Live In A Home Pod?
These home pods only cost $27,000 and they can adapt to multiple terrains
While the median price of homes currently sold in the United States cost around $231,700, ex-Rolls Royce engineer Jag Virdie wants to offer people an alternative means of living with his new startup Conker Living. The eco-friendly Conker living pod is not only able to adapt to multiple terrains but it also gives homeowners a whopping 10-square-meters of space and can be combined with other home pods to make a colony of sorts.
The pods are built out of aluminum and recycled plastic, which actually makes them quite durable. One of the coolest features of a Conker pod is that it’s able to harvest in rainwater through the side of the home and filter it into drinkable, usable water. It also uses a fraction of the electricity of a normal home and your heating bill will never be that high thanks to its reclamation system, which easily recovers heat and warms the pod. And did we mention that it only takes one day to build?
While the pods look pretty futuristic, we’re not sure if the space versus cost ratio is quite worth it. The concept is really cool but it would be hard to fit more than one person in such a small home.
