Bradley Cooper’s dog is the true star in ‘A Star Is Born’

Turns out that Charlie the dog from A Star Is Born is actually Bradley Cooper’s dog in real life

If you haven’t already seen Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga in A Star Is Born, then make it a priority to go see the film in theaters sometime this week. Not only does it have a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes but the movie is one that will pull at your heart throughout and then leave you in tears at the end.

Without giving too many spoilers away, we will say that one of the best non-human performances within the movie came from the pair’s dog, Charlie. Well, as adorable as the dog was – it turns out that Charlie, the Goldendoodle is actually Cooper's dog in real life, too. Needless to say, the fact that Charlie is not only famous on and off the camera but is extremely adorable has blown the minds of many fans.

Charlie’s performance in the film was so good that even PETA has acknowledged his awesomeness. Last week the organization announced that it was honoring Cooper with an inaugural Compassion in Film Award for casting his own dog in the film. "Bradley Cooper's happy, adorable, and much-loved dog steals the spotlight -- and viewers' hearts -- in this film because it's clear that he loved being with his real-life 'dad,'" PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said in a press release. "PETA has witnessed so much abuse and neglect of dogs, both on and off set, that we're hoping Cooper's kind decision sets a precedent for all of Hollywood to follow."

Pretty amazing, right? We can only hope to see the pup in more films down the road. What do you think about Cooper’s dog, Charlie? Be sure to let us know in the comments section below and subscribe to The Sitch for more awesome dog news and
