Here’s A Look At Benedict Cumberbatch’s Take On ‘The Grinch’
You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch
It’s been nearly two decades since Jim Carrey was the Grinch, so we guess that it’s time for a new take on the Dr. Seuss classic. This time around Benedict Cumberbatch will be playing the voice of the green furry grump that absolutely hates Christmas. Not much has been changed from the original plot, besides the fact that this version will be brought to us by Illumination – the same company that has made us laugh with hilarious hits like Minions, Despicable Me, and Sing. The Grinch is still bitter about something and he develops a sinister plan to steal all of the Who’s Christmas presents before having a change of heart thanks to a little Cindy Lou Who. The latest version of the trailer can be seen below.
The film was directed by Scott Mosier and Yarrow Cheney and is set to hit theaters November 9. While the film looks a lot like the other versions we’ve already seen, we’re excited to see what twist Illumination and Cumberbatch will be able to bring to the classic.
