Aston Martin Is Now Developing Its Own Flying Car: And We Just Can't Get Enough
The talk of cars flying high in the skies is finally taking off. British sports car designer Aston Martin has unveiled a prototype for their flying car, “The Volante Vision Concept” at the Farnborough Airshow
We've already covered Kitty Hawk's "Flyer", the flying car that Google's co-founder Larry Page is helping finance. And today we're bringing you a new competitor in the space. In partnership with Cranfield University, Cranfield Aerospace Solutions, and Rolls-Royce, the luxury hybrid-electric car, Volante Vision Concept is now in the running for futuristic flying cars. The car fits up to three passengers, can fly up to a whopping 200 miles per hour, is autonomous, and is also designed for inter-city travel.
“Air travel will be a crucial part in the future of transportation; the Volante Vision Concept is the ultimate luxury mobility solution,” Aston Martin President and CEO Dr. Andy Palmer said in a news release.
Aston Martin joins the derby of futuristic car makers including Google, Porsche, and Uber. With the growing number of people inhabiting the world, especially on our most congested highways, the sky is looking really good to travel in right about now.
