Apple Plans To Live Stream Its iPhone Press Event Tomorrow On Twitter
Apple is hinting that users will be able to watch the #AppleEvent live tomorrow morning via Twitter
While Apple has always live streamed its product announcements, it has done so via its own streaming service. But this year, for the first time, Apple will be live streaming its iPhone press event via its Twitter account. Steve Jobs would probably be furious with the decision, given that he was never that big of a fan of social media, especially Twitter. Apple’s Twitter account is probably one of the only accounts on the platform to have amassed millions of followers, without ever publishing a single tweet (aside from its sponsored posts).
This may not come as a surprise to many, given that there’s been speculation around the web that Apple might make such a move and the tech giant has been encouraging people to use the #AppleEvent hashtag via Twitter to watch tomorrow’s event. If you’re not a fan of hashtags, then Apple also says that users can heart the promoted tweet in order to receive an update about the event. Regardless of how you plan to watch the event, this is a pretty big step forward with regards to how Apple uses social media.
