The Oculus Quest is Oculus’ most powerful VR headset and it only costs $399
The Oculus Quest is exactly what everyone hoped it would be
Oculus is rolling out its new standalone VR headset and it might just be the set to alter the future for virtual reality. The Oculus Quest is set to ship with more than 50 titles, comes with a whopping display resolution of 1600x1440 per eye, and only costs $399 (at least for the 64 GB model). The Quest may just be Oculus’ holy grail when it comes to VR headsets.
The standalone headset offers motion-controlled gaming, full positional tracking thanks to its "inside-out tracking" and truly wireless gaming. This thing is basically just as good as a VR headset you would see on a PC, just without any wires. The new set also has updated controllers and the audio uses spatial audio technology that doesn’t require headphones to hear.
While the Quest isn’t as affordable as the $200 Oculus Go, it’s still extremely impressive and a right step towards the future of virtual reality. The Oculus Quest is set to launch in spring 2019.
