Weird Al Yankovic Is Still Alive And He’s Out Playing “Africa” With Weezer
First Weird Al Yankovic tears it up with Weezer on stage and then Toto releases a cover of "Hash Pipe" - What a week
Weird Al Yankovic was huge back in the day for his seemingly nonstop list of parody songs, ranging from “Amish Paradise” to “Eat It”. While the fifty-eight-year-old might not be as popular today as he once was, he’s still alive and well. In fact, he was recently on stage with Weezer at their Los Angeles show earlier this week. Yankovic and Weezer played Weezer's cover of Toto's "Africa" and yes, Weird Al whipped out his famous accordion.
While originally produced by Toto back in 1982, “Africa” was recently re-recorded and released by American rock band Weezer – all thanks to an Ohio fan who’s twitter page, @weezerafrica went viral, convincing the band to cover the legendary song.
Toto, the rock band that was a huge hit in the ‘80s has even replied to Weezer’s cover with its own cover of Weezer’s “Hash Pipe” earlier this week. The song can be heard here.
