Best Theme Parks To Visit This Summer
The Sitch has put together a list of our favorite theme parks to visit this summer
Summer weekends are best spent either by the beach, by the pool, or riding your favorite roller coaster. We at The Sitch absolutely love roller coasters, so we've put together a list of our top 5 theme parks to visit this summer (in no particular order).
1. Disney World
The king and queen of theme parks is definitely Minnie and Mickey Mouse. Disney World is by far the most popular theme park in the world, with Magic Kingdom being the most popular park in Disney World. In 2017 alone, 20.45 million people visited the park - that's roughly 56,027 each day.
On your trip to Disney World, you will want to be sure to visit Epcot, which is essentially a trip around the world with multiple restaurants and cuisines to choose from. Animal Kingdom is must see as well with exotic animals, fun shows, and safari adventures.
If you're looking to ride some roller coasters then Magic Kingdom is the place to be. At Disney World though, you also want to be sure to meet all of the Disney characters as well as see favorite shows like Beauty and the Beast, Finding Nemo, and The Lion King.
2. Six Flags
With locations in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, China, Mexico, Canada, Texas, New York, New Jersey, Missouri, Massachusetts, Maryland, Illinois, Georgia, and California - Six Flags is probably the best known theme park after Disney World. Our favorite rides include Nitro, El Toro, Kingda Ka, and Bizarro. If you're not a huge fan of the rides, be sure to catch the top shows: Hey! Mr DJ, Looney Tunes Rockin' Dance Party, and Miss Ruby's Wild West Cabaret.
3. Hershey Park
Want to spend an entire day celebrating America's favorite chocolate? You're in luck! At Hershey Park in Hershey, Pennsylvania, not only can you ride incredible roller coasters like Skyrush, Great Bear, and Storm Runner - you can also head over to Chocolate World and do things like make your own chocolate bar, ride through the chocolate factory and learn how Hershey's chocolate is made. Additionally, there are some fantastic shows you don't want to miss like Once Upon, Cocoa Rhythm, The Good Time, and Character Commotion.
Possibly one of the least known theme parks, Carowinds is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. This theme park is home to crazy roller coasters, such as Afterburn, Fury 325, and Intimidator which was ranked as one of the top 10 roller coasters in America. Carowinds also has a water park and shows like Decades Live, Seasons of Cirque, and Franklin's Dance Party.
Much like Disney World, Disneyland is another theme park that's home to everyone's favorite mouse. The difference between Disney World and Disneyland is that Disneyland is smaller and there are many more of them. A trip to Disneyland can take you to places like California, Hong Kong, Japan, and Paris. Since The Sitch is based in the United States, we'll focus on Disneyland California. This theme park is home to rides such as Space Mountain, Indiana Jones Adventure, and Grizzly River Run. Similar to Disney World, you can also meet your favorite Disney characters at Disneyland and see some spectacular shows.
No matter which theme park you decide to visit this summer, you're sure to have a blast! Be sure to pack sunscreen, water, and a light snack since you'll be on your feet and in the heat for an entire day. Let us know which theme park is your favorite in the comments section below!
