Curio: The Hollywood Assistant’s New Savior

Curio: The Hollywood Assistant’s New Savior

The Curio app is a gifting service designed to deliver items in under two hours

So it’s 4 pm and you need to return calls, finish a presentation, and find organic diapers for your boss’ newest client before the only store that sells them closes at 5 pm. Whew!

Before becoming frantic, you take a breath, whip out your phone and click on the new Curio app. In seconds you speak with a dedicated shopper and receive the diapers nicely wrapped before your boss even thinks to ask you again.

Created by former Hollywood assistant Lena Khouri, this mobile gifting app has 13 L.A boutique partners that allow anyone who needs an item to either pick-up or request on-demand delivery. With her days at talent agency CAA in mind, Curio offers assistants 5% back on each order. Once they reach $50, they are eligible for an AMEX gift card and $10 referral bonus!

Co-founder Christine Outram believes giving every customer over 3,000 unique items to choose from honors the start-up culture: “Celebrating the small businesses and creative makers in our community is something we’re really passionate about.”

With the anticipated success of their venture, the team hopes to expand to other areas of California and eventually the East Coast.
